Lucy Helen Kostos (b.1993) is a glass artist based in Melbourne/Naarm. Lucy was first introduced to glass at Monash University, where she completed a Bachelor of Visual Arts in 2018. Her time at Monash also included a scholarship to Pilchuck Glass School in Seattle. Lucy uses recycled float glass and repurposes it into sculptural forms. She manipulates the glass through a kiln-based process. Her interest lies in materiality, and the everchanging function of the medium. Her sculptures are organic, ethereal landscapes—mapping the natural world as precarious and beautiful—just like the vulnerabilities of glass.
